ICMA Webinar: Digital Green Bond Issuance and the Bond Data Taxonomy
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) held a webinar looking at the 3rd, and ground-breaking, multi-currency digital green bond issuance by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, and how the Bond Data Taxonomy was implemented.
The issuance marked the second time ICMA’s Bond Data Taxonomy (BDT) was embedded by a government issuer for a digital green bond.
Following a brief introduction there was a presentation on the key features of the issuance, the benefits for issuers and investors, and the novel use of tokenised central bank money.
