André Anthony Kurte
André is an experienced financial markets professional and trainer based in Johannesburg, South Africa. He holds dual South African and Italian nationality and brings over 30 years of expertise in banking, treasury, derivatives, and financial markets education.
André holds a BCom Honours degree in Financial Management and Business Management from UNISA and is a Certified Associate of the Institute of Bankers in South Africa (CAIB SA). He is also a Fellow of the South African Institute of Financial Markets, where he served as a Governor for over 20 years.
His career includes senior roles at Nedbank, where he helped establish the interest rate derivatives desk, and at ABSA, where he headed the agricultural derivatives trading desk and served on the executive committee of the South African Futures Exchange Agricultural Markets Division. He has also worked as a Director at two major interdealer brokers and as Assistant General Manager at the South African Futures Exchange, responsible for interest rate product development.
For the past 22 years, André has focused on training financial professionals worldwide, delivering workshops on fixed income, money markets, foreign exchange, and derivatives. He has delivered programmes across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe for leading multinational financial institutions.
As an accredited facilitator with the ACI Financial Markets Association, André has delivered over 150 ACI workshops internationally, consistently achieving high first-time pass rates for the ACI Dealing, Diploma, and Operations certificates. He is also a lead facilitator for the South African Institute of Financial Markets, delivering CPD-recognised workshops on a range of financial topics.
He is the author of Introduction to Derivatives – A South African Perspective, a prescribed text for third-year BCom Risk Management students at the University of South Africa.
