Overview
The French High Commission for Strategy and Planning published a report highlighting a worrying setback among young people regarding gender stereotypes. Unfortunately, we know that these stereotypes contribute to the construction of gender inequalities, inequalities that in turn fuel stereotypes.
While finance has made notable progress in recent decades, overall, women remain underrepresented, particularly in management positions.
The IWN hosted an interactive evening where women shared their personal experiences on gender stereotyping, and engaged in open discussion on how to address it. Their journeys have undoubtedly not always been smooth sailing, but their perseverance and competence have been rewarded with recognition from higher management.
Prior to this discussion, Béatrice Layan provided an overview of gender equality in the banking sector.
Finally, Corentine Poilvet-Clediere shared her own experience and her commitment to the charitable sector, particularly education, which is recognized as one of the key levers for ending inequality.
